Welcome to Physical Education at Ivy Stockwell

My name is Matt Neibauer.  I am the Physical Education teacher at Ivy Stockwell Elementary School.  I love teaching P.E., as I believe play and physical activity help the development of young people in a myriad of wonderful ways. During P.E., we play games and do physical activities that focus on Movement Competence and Understanding. For this standard, students engage in locomotor movement games, as well as balance activities, throwing and kicking games, and the manipulation of balls and objects. During P.E., we also focus on Physical and Personal Wellness programming which promotes physical exercise, goal setting, and health related learning engagements. Finally, students at Ivy Stockwell engage in a number of Social Emotional Wellness activities, learning about self-regulation, calming strategies, teamwork, and conflict resolution. Overall, I am a huge advocate for using play to ensure all students at Ivy Stockwell Elementary have physical education programming that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion through the utilization of physical activity.
